If you take the trouble to read my earlier post you will see that the Russian nation lost over three and a half times the number of soldiers and citizens in fighting Hitler than civilians murdered in the Holocaust. By all accounts therefore you would expect there to be a similar rant on this subject here from forum members related to this Nation given also that they host VH. The fact that there isn't does mean that they don't feel this terrible loss just as keenly. All men are equal aren't they? They have moved on and so perhaps so should we.

Well that is not a bad idea to put it. Indeed thr Red Army lost three times more people than all the rest of the armies. But this also had to do with how the philosophy and leadership was set up there. A tank in the red Army was worth more than the life of one hundred soldiers.

I am not all these names are dictators responsible for crimes against humanity:

  • Kim Il Sung / Kim Jong Il / Kim Jong Un
  • Erich Honecker
  • Walter Ulbricht
  • Fidel & Raul Castro
  • Nicolas Maduro
  • Hugo Chavez

None of those names strike the anywhere near the same negative connotation as the name Adolf does and you know it. Make all of your little jokes you want to, but to other people this is a deeply sensitive matter. You are deliberately minimizing their anguish by doing what you are doing. You are literally laughing at their feelings about this. I'm personally appalled.

You are belittling the significance of this name. The name Adolf in particular has a very negative connotation.

respecting everyone, but it is only a name,

he happens to have Nazi tattoos or Nazi paintings, that would be very different

this topic is a bit ridiculous, there are real situations that happened in vhtv and was not given great relevance, but a name seems to offend a lot of people

Mao Tse Dong actually was the biggest monster ever...

Well when VHTV allows a tenant to use the name Mao we can deal with that then.

With all due respect it is not just a name.

In Germany most guys named Adolf get called A(d)di

The person who founded the Adidas company his name in life is Adolf but he goes by the nickname of Adi.  That's how the name Adidas came about.

Having at least one German person on this forum defending the Adolf name is actually quite astounding.

Not any problem at all with the name he choose.. it's just a name. As far as we could see he doesn't have any connotation to the Adolf from the past century.
If he had chosen Hitler that could be worst

without your remarks about the name, I wouldn't pay attention to this picture; now, picture should be removed as distorted effigy of Hitler was added deliberately
