Being gay/lesbian in Russia is not easy as the authorities are openly hostile to such relationships. The fact these girls are prepared to project themselves on RLC is testament to their commitment to each other and their friends. As has been said they go through all the various emotions relationships create and yet survive and thrive. They seem to have a great circle of friends and enjoy going out and partying. They each deserve to get the best out of life. Nina undoubtedly has to be the centre of attention and Kira seems happy for her to take centre stage. Total respect to two great girls. 4

The government has got nothing to do with it. They only reflect the views of society. In the Soviet Union it was possible to get a real prison sentence for non-traditional sexual relations. It no longer exists. But the propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations (not the relationship itself) is forbidden. Do not forget that we have a lot religious people and religious denominations are negative in non-traditional sexual relations. Personally, I absolutely indifferent who, whom and in what place of the body. Besides, I love lesbians (unfortunately unrequited). 5
