Fact: Pfizer was paid money in advance by the U.S. for millions of doses of untested vaccine, so vaccine would be ready for the public when proven to work.  In July,'20 Pfizer was paid by the U.S. $1.9 billion for an initial order of 100 million doses of a vaccine that had not yet been proven to work. The money that was paid Pfizer up front helped them to develop the vaccine.

This is another lie, a made-up "fact".

It’s said that success has many authors, and the encouraging data from Pfizer Inc.’s experimental Covid-19 vaccine had plenty of people in...

"The truth is that Pfizer didn’t receive any funding from Operation Warp Speed for the development, clinical trial and manufacturing of the vaccine. Rather, its partner, BioNTech SE, has received money -- from the German government."

"Berlin gave the German company $445 million in an agreement in September to help accelerate the vaccine by building out manufacturing and development capacity in its home market."

"What the U.S. did, meanwhile, was commit to buying hundreds of millions of vaccines in advance to ensure Americans were among the first in line if it clinches an emergency-use authorization or approval from the FDA. The Trump administration agreed in July to pay almost $2 billion for 100 million doses, with an option to acquire as many as 500 million more, once that clearance comes."

Read carefully, the outgoing Trump administration agreed in July to pay, NOT PAID.

There was no money upfront whatsoever because the vaccine has to work & FDA has to approve it in order for the order to go through. This logic makes sense to you????

Maybe I should explain this to you even more clearly, what the US govt did was to put in the order first in July but the money would come later once the vaccine is approved. You don't pay up for something first if you are not sure if it would work in the first place!

Why are there still idiots who believe in straight-up lies so easily???

The U.S. already has large quantities of the vaccine from Pfizer on hand and distribution is pending the FDA approval of the drug. Do you really believe Pfizer gave all those doses of the unproven vaccine to the U.S. before receiving payment?

What the fuck are you talking about?

The US government would only pay Pfizer if their vaccine clears the FDA. Who will pay USD$2b for junk meds? This was made clear to Pfizer when the US government put in that order.

It was a publicly announced order from the US government for the vaccine. Pfizer is not worried if the US government would pay up because if they don't, the legal & political repercussions would be beyond repair!

Why are Trump supporters like you so stupid?

You can't read or you can't think? Or both?

Why would Pfizer produce millions of doses of an untested, unproven vaccine unless they knew they would be paid for them?  Normally a drug company produces only enough doses to test the vaccine, and then when the vaccine has been proven and approved by regulatory agencies they begin mass production. How is it that a massive supply of the Pfizer vaccine was ready for use immediately upon receiving approval from government regulatory agencies? The answer is because of the Warp Speed Program whereby drug companies produced a massive supply of the vaccine before the vaccine had even been tested. How else do you explain the fact that FDA approved the vaccine for use in the U.S. today and people could be receiving covid-19 vaccinations as early as this Monday. Why would any sane business person produce huge supplies of any untested drug if they were not sure they would be paid for the drugs. If the vaccine had not worked or if they had not received approval from government agencies they would have been stuck with millions of doses of a worthless drug. A monetary guarantee from the U.S. government is why these companies were willing to mass produce the vaccine before it had been tested and approved.

I posted this Tuesday, but in light of recent posts, it bears repeating.

"In July, Pfizer got a $1.95 billion deal with the government’s Operation Warp Speed, the multiagency effort to rush a vaccine to market, to deliver 100 million doses of the vaccine. The arrangement is an advance-purchase agreement, meaning that the company won’t get paid until they deliver the vaccines. Pfizer did not accept federal funding to help develop or manufacture the vaccine, unlike front-runners Moderna and AstraZeneca."

So, Pfizer has yet to receive a penny from the US. Here's the article, though it's rather short.

Per Luciane.com News Forum posted on Dec. 14, "The American Medical  Association, in a surprising move, has officially rescinded a previous statement against the use of Hydroxychlotoquine in the treatment of COVID-19 patients, giving physicians the okay to return to utilizing the medication at their discretion."    I wonder how many people the AMA killed by preventing doctors from treating COVID-19 patients with Hydroxychloroquine?

Federal law requires the FDA to approve what drugs a doctor may prescribe, not the AMA. HCQ was never approved by the FDA for use by doctors, except for a temporary Emergency Use Authorization, which was revoked in June. Currently, HCQ is not FDA-approved for treating COVID-19.

So you're saying the AMA is telling doctors to break the law? Then take it up with the AMA. I just reported what the AMA said.

That changes nothing about the reality of what I said. The reason that millions of doses of the vaccine were ready for distribution immediately upon approval by government agencies is because the vaccine was mass produced before receiving government approval.   No CEO of a major pharmaceutical corporation would ever produce millions of doses of an untested, unproven vaccine unless he/she knew that they would receive payment for those products. The Warp Sped Program guaranteed payment for those millions of doses of the vaccine. If Pfizer has yet to receive a penny from the U.S. why are people in the U.S. right now being vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine?  Also, your source for the story is the New York Times which hasn't told the truth about President Trump for the last four plus years.
