Discussion:2019 Novel Corona Virus (Covid19) and It's Political Ramifications #4

Recommended Posts

Could there BE a bigger simpleton? It's so utterly stupid and preposterous,
It bears repeating...over and over and over.

“If we stopped testing right now, we’d have very few cases, if any.”

— President Donald Trump in remarks during a June 15 roundtable discussion

If you don’t test, you don’t have any cases,” Trump said at a June 15
roundtable discussion
at the White House. “If we stopped testing right
now, we’d have very few cases, if any.”

“We will show more — more cases when other countries have far more
cases than we do; they just don’t talk about it,” he added. But that isn’t
true.

And what about the president’s assertion that “if we stopped testing right
now, we’d have very few cases” or none at all? On its literal phrasing, it’s
absurd, experts said.

“The implication that not testing makes the problem go away is completely
false. It could not be more false,” said Dr. Joshua Sharfstein, vice dean for
public health practice and community engagement at the Johns Hopkins
Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore. That’s because testing
doesn’t create instances of the virus — it is just a way of showing and
tracking them.

The president’s claim has no merit and seriously misrepresents the severity
of the public health crisis. We rate it Pants on Fire.

China cover-up: The brutal treatment of expert who tried to tell the TRUTH about COVID-19

A CHINESE professor was brutally dismissed from the Chinese Communist party after voicing concerns of a coronavirus cover-up in China.

Cai Xia, who has worked at China’s elite Central Party School, questioned on President Xi Jinping and the country's COVID-19 figures. Coronavirus is believed to have emerged from a wet market in Wuhan in December.

China has been accused of both censoring medical experts speaking of a new disease and providing fake coronavirus death tolls.

Now a former worker of the ruling Communist Party has joined a number of personalities casting doubt on the veracity of the data.

Ms Xia was dismissed from the party on Monday after a tape recording of her branding Mr Xi as a "mafia boss" was leaked online.

Having now left the country, she told the Guardian that China was destined for catastrophe as "people cannot speak the truth.

"Wuhan’s epidemic spread across the country and the whole world and everyone has been harmed.

"Chinese citizens have borne the brunt and among Chinese people, people in Wuhan suffered the most.

"We have so many people dead, including people like Li Wenliang who should not have died.

"About the number of deaths, up to now China has not even said a real death number."

China has reported 4,634 coronavirus deaths so far.

This figure places the country in 27th place of most affected nations by death globally.

Critics said this figure is impossible given the high comparable death tolls of far smaller countries.

Another factor fuelling the claims is that the disease was allowed to spread for weeks before prevention measures came into force.

Ms Xia said: "Officials at all levels hide the truth and report only when they cannot cover up any more."

A Chinese newspaper has lashed out at her "blatant betrayal."

Studies from June indicated China's COVID-19 total could be 14 times higher than the nation’s official figure.

She added that her standpoint was now "free from any constraints".

United States experts who carried out the research suggested China may have been experiencing as many as 2,000 daily fatalities during the peak of its outbreak.

One expert has also said this month that China's ruling party also "purged" a key database from a Wuhan lab.

Cyber security expert Robert Potter said analysis of leaked figures from a Chinese data leak seemed to reveal "major discrepancies" from the figures they gave the World Health Organisation.

China's honesty was also doubted when a doctor who said her bosses censored her warnings about COVID-19 suddenly disappeared in April.

'There is no absolute truth': an infectious disease expert on Covid-19, misinformation and 'bullshit'

The idea with bullshit is that it’s trying to appear authoritative and definitive in a way that’s not about communicating accurately and informing a reader. Hyper-partisan media are making a huge mess of this, but that’s on purpose. It may even be that some of the research is being done with an implicitly political context, depending on who the funders are or what the orientations and biases of some of the researchers

Bullshit isn’t what it used to be. Now, two science professors give us the tools to dismantle misinformation and think clearly in a world of fake news...

This isn't "fake news", except to 45. The psychopath said every, single
word. And every, single word was a complete lie. And, as he spoke
every word in this video, he knew they were all absolute lies. But, that's
to be expected from a psychopath. Psychopaths don't give a shit about
anyone or anything else, except themselves and power.

If that were true--he would not continue to donate his annual salary of $400,000.00 back to the government-

he must be crazy not to keep it himself--selfish guy😏

Can someone explain to me why during all past epidemics, the exposed and sickly were quarantined instead of all the healthy people?

What's more scary to parents and more dangerous to a school kid: When school started in the 1950's before polio vaccine, or now with Covid? Should they have closed schools? Even measles was deadly at one time, and they didn't close the schools.

Or is there another reason the schooling and the economy for the young and healthy must die? Something is fishy here, like Asian tilapia fish farms loaded with lead and mercury. Hummm.
